Michael Halbert is a patent attorney with over 20 years of experience. Mr. Halbert specializes in all aspects of patent protection, including preparing, filing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patents, preparing invalidity and non-infringement opinions, strategic counseling, performing prior art searches and due diligence investigations, as well as litigation and licensing counseling.
Mr. Halbert has represented clients in a variety of high technology fields, including optical metrology and inspection systems, light emitting diodes, semiconductor devices and fabrication, hard disk drive manufacturing and testing, mobile radio technologies, positioning and location, and augmented reality. Mr. Halbert represents a variety of small and large clients, from early stage start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.
Prior to founding Silicon Valley Patent Group, LLP in 2002, Mr. Halbert was a partner at Skjerven Morrill, LLP, where he was active in patent prosecution, litigation, and licensing. Mr. Halbert graduated magna cum laude from Santa Clara University, where he was an editor on law review and served as a judicial extern for California Supreme Court Justice Edward A. Panelli and Chief Justice Ronald M. George. Before law school, Mr. Halbert graduated from University of California at Irvine with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. |
